Public Vote Result

My version of The Kinks’ “Sweet Lady Genevieve” peaked at #16, before being leapfrogged in the dying moments, by just 1 vote, to finish at #17.  Not too bad out of well over 300 entries.  The top 2 are now already in the prizes, but there are the top prize and 2 further runners up to be decided by the judges, with “special consideration for the top voted entries”.  Essentially what this means is that you have to chart high enough in the public vote in order to get listened to by the judges, because clearly, Ray Davies can’t be expected to listen to and pick a winner from over 300 entries.  What isn’t known is whether that will be the top 10, the top 20, the top 50 or what.  Clearly, the top 20 being the ones in the reckoning would be the best result for me.  The results are announced on 31st August, so watch this space and keep your fingers crossed for me!  If you haven’t heard my entry, or if you haven’t seen the accompanying video yet, check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2j1BjlO3fI&feature=plcp
